About Us

In 2008, a frustrated and angry Michael came to his father Gary for advice. At the time, Michael was a Detective for the Baltimore City Police Department and working for a security company as secondary employment. He couldn't help but notice how security companies, including his current employer, were cheating and robbing their clients. These companies were hiring unqualified individuals, who were unconcerned about their jobs, the seriousness of the work and their clients. As Michael resigned from his position as a security guard, he approached his father with the idea of creating a new security company.
Michael’s goal was to find and hire the most qualified individuals. Individuals with extensive training, a positive work ethic, and the right attitude. His inspiration was to make client properties a safer environment for everyone. This has resulted in an extensive reference list, proving MWR  is the best at what we do. Whether it's a shopping center, apartment complex, community, or any other property, we strive and succeed at being the best security company available. 

Gary W. Rice
President

The President of MWR Investigations is a 25 year retired Special Agent from the Fedeal Bureau of Investigations. Gary spent his final five years as a Supervisory Special Agent at FBI Headquarters in Washington, D.C. He has extensive experience conducting investigations involving bank robberies, drugs, fugitives, kidnappings, white collar crime, organized crime, espionage and domestic terrorism. He served five years as an FBI Instructor and seven years on the FBI Swat Team. Gary Rice strives for perfection and accepts nothing less.

Michael W. Rice
President of Operations

The Vice President of Operations is a retired Baltimore City Police Detective and military veteran. Michael worked two and a half years in the VCIS Unit dealing with issues including drugs, violent crimes, armed robberies, and unarmed robberies. Michael worked for 10 years as a Police Officer in the city of Baltimore, and six years in the United States Marine Corps, more than a year of which was serving in Iraq. Residing in Baltimore City, Michael can easily handle the day to day operations of MWR Investigations, including contract management, scheduling and meeting with clients.
